January update: 1/24
Only a few days left in the month and Chowda/Pneumno still look good for picking up 3 points. JSox has a chance for 1 point. JohnRocks was shut out this month although it did rain 0.02 on his day. Mrs and Mr. D still haven't taken their day this month. Here's hoping for rain this last week.

January update
Top 3 days:
1/06: 0.90" (Alex & Kyle)
1/04: 0.62"
1/07: 0.16"
The monthly total is 1.73" which is 0.61 above normal.
After tonight's rain which had the disadvantage of being close to midnight (& thus split over two days), it looks pretty dry for 5-6 days. Beyond that the hints are for continued dry conditions. (Sorry Austin.)

Contest Rules
Rules:
1. Your goal is to guess the one day on each month on which the most precipitation falls at RDU. So, you only get one guess per month.
2. You may guess your day at anytime, but you must guess the day before it starts (i.e., before midnight).
3. To submit your guess, just write a blog post.
4. Anyone is welcome to participate.
5. If there's a month w/ fewer than 3 days for precip ... then there may not be a 2 or 1 point score.
Scoring:
3 points if your day does have the most precip at RDU.
2 points if your day had the 2nd most precip at RDU.
1 point if your day had the 3rd most precip at RDU.
Example: Last month (Dec 2008) the 3 days w/ the most precip were:
12/11: 1.40" (3 points for anyone who had guessed this day)
12/21: 0.60" (2 points)
12/25: 0.31" (1 point)
Prize:
We'll hand out the Fujita Trophy at the end of the year.
